I love my in-laws, no kidding they are two of the coolest people I know. I seriously lucked out in this department. They're more like awesome friends that we hang out with, but who still make us cookies and cook us dinner quite frequently :) We bowl together, have parties together, watch football together and to top it off, they la la loooove my girls so it can't get any better.
My in-laws used to live in this old house, and I mean old....like I think it was originally a forest service cabin built around the 1920's. My father-in-law actually grew up there himself so that gives you an idea of how long it had been in the family, which is pretty cool. They kept it updated, remodeled here and there, and made it work for them for 20 years or so. However, there came a point where they were just ready to upgrade and they were so excited when they decided to build a new house. It's super nice and I'm so happy for them that they have such a great home to live in where they can have frequent get together's with their friends and family.
One of the things that my father-in-law gets to have now is a man cave, and I'm talking the manliest of man caves here. He has a 70 inch TV, a huge space with gorgeous leather furniture and warm wood accents, and the best thing of all.....a big, beautiful, beefy bar. This baby is amaze-balls. It's fully equipped with a sink and fridge, has enough cabinet and shelving space to stock a bar downtown, and the bar top.....oh the bar top.....is seriously a 6 inch slab of tree. Describing a bar as "beautiful" is not something I would normally do, but it really is amazing.
Anyway, the whole point of this story is to show you some photos that I've taken to hang in my father-in-law's man cave. They're pretty awesome if I do say so myself! I got the idea from my brother-in-law who did something similar with different types of beer. My father-in-law is becoming a bit of a connoisseur of good whiskeys though (as is JR randomly) so I thought this would be perfect.
Taking pictures of humans is cool and all, I mean that's what I do for a living so I obviously enjoy it. But it's a ton of fun for me to venture out and do something a little different from time to time. Plus I gave my father-in-law an excuse to buy all of the classic styles of whiskey for his new bar....I think he's cool with that.
Toodles.
