Oh winter weddings, you officially have my heart! Lindsey and Corey said their I Do's at the Rockin' TJ Ranch and it was amazing.
To start off, I've known this couple for around eight years (Corey's parents are family friends) and so it was such a special honor to be able to capture their day. Photographing weddings is always fun, but since I know Corey and Lindsey so well, it was hard not to have a complete blasty blast. Plus....since I was part guest part photographer, Sherry and I got to put away the cameras around nine and show off some serious whip/nae nae skills. Anyhoo...I was ridiculously excited when I heard that Lindsey and Corey had gotten engaged. These two have been an absolutely awesome couple for eight years so, as you can imagine, everyone was thrilled to hear that they were tying the knot. They are so freaking amazing together! Check out this happiness.
Corey and Lindsey live in beautiful Anchorage, Alaska, and are lovers of the outdoors, so they were completely game for doing all of their photos outside. It was so gorgeous in the snow and there was a killer combination of beautiful backdrop and beautiful people that made my photographer heart happy :) The ladies wore blush pink dresses from David's Bridal and the guys wore navy blue tuxedos from Persnickety Formalwear. Everyone looked extremely amazing.
Quick side note: I have to point out that men in winter weddings pretty much have it made with their layering and their socks and their wool suits....but these ladies nailed it and stayed (semi) warm with some stellar winter-ready accessories. Take a look see!
Although admittedly....the guys might have won the overall kick-ass accessory award.
The Rockin' TJ Ranch was such a perfect venue choice for Lindsey and Corey. Getting married in the winter, you obviously have to find a great indoor space, and the Rockin' TJ definitely delivers on that. Plus, this place has views of the mountains that are gorgeous any time of the year, so seeing it in winter with a fresh layer of snow was just amazing!
When I asked Lindsey to give me an idea of what her wedding would be like, the words "rustic elegance" were thrown out there, and that really does sum up the look and feel of this wedding. The place settings were beautiful, the arrangements from Moonlight Flowers were gorgeous, and all of Lindsey's details were just amazing.
Speaking of Lindsey, can we just talk about this stunning bride for a minute?! Her dress by Justin Alexander from Anderson's Bride in Anchorage blew me away, and the amount of gorgeousness in this lady is just plain striking. Lindsey is so beautiful, inside and out, and I just can't get over how amazing she looks in every. single. photo!
Okay now we get down to the real important stuff....DESSERT! The cake by Elegant Perfections was STUN-NING. I've never seen anything like it. Connie is a creative cake genius :) And on top of it being gorgeous, it was absolute delish. Every layer was a different flavor and the petals around the outside were made out of white chocolate! Holy awesome cake batman.
Corey and Lindsey get an A+ at having incredible humans in their lives, and this was definitely evident during the toast portion of the night. There were some awesome speeches for the newlyweds and even a few happy tears to tug at the heartstrings!
I think my favorite toast of the night had to be Corey's dad though. Tate is such a great guy and I'm pretty sure that every single person who has ever met him a) liked him instantly and b) will remember him forever. He stood up for his speech, said "Hellooo....my name is Tate" with a huge grin on his face and the room seriously went crazy. There was an amazing and contagious feel of love and happiness during his speech that gave us all the warm fuzzies.
Once dinner was over, the happy couple had their first dance as a married couple. After that it was the parent dances, which is always one of my favorite parts of the day. There was so much love here it still makes me smile :)
After that, the guys at Mach 1 Music got the party started and we all had some serious amounts of fun! Although, I do think the kiddos that night might have beat us all in the fun department.
One last side note....I've decided that this is what happens when the groom knows the photographer well enough to enjoy being a pain in her ass :) Although I don't know if I can completely blame him....as you can see from the bottom right photo, it apparently runs in the family. Ha! Love you guys!
Congratulations to Lindsey and Corey! You guys are so great for each other and my heart is at max capacity with happiness for you both. Thank you so much for having me be a part of your big day :)
